The It-Won't-Take-You-All-Afternoon-But-Your-Kids-Will-Still-Be-Impressed 4th of July Cake

Easy Fourth of July Cake with marbled red, white, and blue colors. Bright white frosting and sprinkles, too! Your kids will love it!

There are so many beautiful 4th of July desserts out there on the interwebs!  They're so inspiring, carefully constructed, time consuming and I'd like to give major kudos to the people who pull them off.  For me, though, I know that as long as my kids are little that kind of dessert will never happen.  I wanted to make something that I could finish during their nap time and that would impress them.  I think I hit the jack pot!

All you need for this Fourth Of July Cake is a white cake mix, red and blue food coloring, and some kind of frosting and decoration for the top.  I promise your kids will oooh-and-ahhh!

Preheat your oven and prepare your cake batter according to the package instructions.  Divide into 3 bowls (mine was a Valentine's Day Funfetti mix-- hence the little red specks).

Add red and blue food coloring to 2 of the bowls.  I used 40 drops of red and 25 drops of blue.

Prepare a bundt pan with non-stick spray.  Be generous.  Gently spoon half of your white batter into the bottom of the pan.  Then add half of your red batter, and half of your blue batter.  Repeat, using all of your batter.  You'll want to spread it out as gently as you can without mixing the colors.  Bake according to package directions.

Let cool for 10-15 minutes before you flip it out onto a cooling rack.

Let cool completely before frosting and adding any additional decorations.  I used Cool-Whip, because we're classy like that.  Slice it up, serve it up, and watch your kids eyes light up!
