Beach Ball Painting- Fun and easy summer process art for kids. Perfect activity for preschool, kindergarten, or elementary.

Time for some fun summer process art!  My daughters have been super anti-craft lately.  They always love painting, but sometimes get bored with regular free painting, so we have to mix it up.  We used a classic summer toy and turned it into an art supply for some awesome Beach Ball Painting.  This activity was a big hit in our house - I hope your kids enjoy it, too!

Gather Materials For Beach Ball Painting

None of these materials should come as a surprise!  You'll need paint, large paper, mini beach balls, and a paper plate or palette for your paint.

Just spread out lots of paper, inflate your beach balls, squirt some paint on your paper plates and you're ready to begin.  I tried to put colors that would go well together on the same plate to prepare for the inevitable mixing that would happen.

Invite Your Children To Paint

Let your children come to the table and begin painting!  They'll dip the beach ball into the paint and the press or swirl it on the paper.

They can make neat and tidy prints, like my older daughter, Lena.

Or they can smush and swirl the paint all around, like my younger daughter, Maggie.

What I love most about process art is that it doesn't matter what it looks like!  My daughters have very different artistic styles and preferences.  With a process art activity, each child can experiment, paint, print, or create however they like.  When you've finished, just rinse off your beach balls and admire your children's work!
